Whew, 2018 was one whirlwind of a year. But we made it! We hope everyone’s 2019 is off to an amazing start with lots of snow. It has been almost five months to the day that Chaucy Pottery has landed in its new home, Paonia, and we’re loving every minute here. Still trying to process all of the BIG changes we made last year, and they wouldn’t be possible without the support of our amazing customers.
The last few months of 2018 consisted of lots of trips to the Paonia Post Office carting package after package. The biggest trip was 16 boxes at once (I have a cart, all pottery is safe). Fortunately, the new post office is only 0.4 miles away. A perfect dog walk distance for little Bob and Happy. Everyone in town knows these two pups pretty well by now. Bob is a hit!
If you’ve been keeping tabs on Facebook, you can see that the studio is completely set up and truly my dream studio. With the new addition of the all-glass garage door I really get to take advantage of the natural light that pours into the studio, which sure beats those fluorescent lights we had in Franktown. I get to wake up every day and walk 20 feet to work. And if that isn’t productivity, I don’t know what is.
The continued positive response to our Etsy shop has been overwhelming. We knew it would be a big transition for all of our customers, and whether you were already an Etsy aficionado or just learning the Etsy online shopping ropes, we want to thank you again for supporting us. We recently learned we are in the top 5% of Etsy sellers. That’s huge! We hope to continue to stay on top of our game and serve high-quality stoneware pottery to the Front Range and beyond.
While the snow accumulates outside, we’re a couple of busy beavers with me in the studio and Sammi behind the computer screen working remotely from Denver. I couldn’t do all of this without her graphic design creativity, her proof reading my writing and adding a few key sentences. Really it’s the other way around. She writes and I throw in my five cents worth. And we’re already preparing for the Colorado Renaissance Festival. Yes, this early, can you believe it?! Neither can we! The mad dash to get ready for summer in Larkspur is full steam ahead. Until then, our Etsy shop is continuing to get stocked with new goodies. Be sure to check it out. We just relisted several items and are adding new ones weekly.
Here’s to 2019! Wishing you all a happy and healthy new year.
